Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that partners clinical care, research, and training to deliver leading outcomes for patients with cancer, diabetes, and other life‑threatening illnesses. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with acute care and ICU experience to provide advanced clinical care across all levels of acuity in an adaptable unit. The role supports multidisciplinary teams, facilitates timely, evidence‑based care, and collaborates closely with attending physicians and nursing staff. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and formulate differential diagnoses. Initiate treatment plans and execute critical care procedures. Manage patients throughout the continuum of care, including medical‑surgical, step‑down, and ICU‑level acuity. Collaborate with attending physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver cohesive patient care. Participate in clinical rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. Work Schedule and Compensation Overnight shift: 7PM – 7AM with a 7‑days‑on, 7‑days‑off, 7‑days‑on, 14‑days‑off rotation. The position includes an 18% night‑shift differential. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner with an advanced practice background. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program or hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure. Licensed/certified and eligible to practice as a Physician Assistant in Arizona or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Arizona. For Nurse Practitioners: certification as ACNP or AGACNP. Active American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Acute care and/or ICU experience highly preferred.
