Principal Industrial Engineer

Haemonetics seeks a Principal Industrial Engineer to optimize global manufacturing operations through plant layout design, process flow mapping, and utility coordination. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, operations, facilities, and quality teams to improve production efficiency, space utilization, and equipment placement in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain plant layouts, production line layouts, and space utilization plans for equipment installations, line moves, and capacity expansions
- Create process flow maps, value stream maps, and material flow analyses to identify bottlenecks and optimize manufacturing flow and staffing
- Coordinate utility requirements including compressed air, electrical, vacuum, water, HVAC, and cleanroom infrastructure for manufacturing areas
- Lead cross-functional teams including facilities, maintenance, quality, and operations to ensure layout and process plans support safety, compliance, and operational targets
- Support manufacturing projects by developing layout concepts, evaluating constraints, and recommending implementation plans with supporting documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- 8+ years industrial or manufacturing engineering experience including facilities planning and plant layout design
- Demonstrated experience developing plant layouts, workstation designs, and process flow maps for equipment installations and capacity expansions
- Proficiency with CAD or facility layout software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or DraftSight
- Experience in highly controlled manufacturing environments with knowledge of equipment qualification and change control
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while coordinating across engineering, operations, facilities, and external vendors
- Lean Manufacturing experience including 5S, value stream mapping, and line balancing preferred
