All qualified and interested applicants are encouraged to apply.Position Summary:WLCSC is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dedicated Special Education team. The OT will be responsible for assessing and treating students with OT deficiencies that impact academic performance and social participation. This professional will collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to help each student reach their fullest communication potential within the educational setting.Duties and Responsibilities:Compliance and Monitoring: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP)Provide direct and indirect therapy to address identified OT goalsAdapt and modify therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs, including those with autism, developmental delays, or hearing impairmentsMaintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress notes, and service delivery logsEnsure compliance with IDEA, Article 7, and district regulations related to OT servicesComply with all WLCSC requirements for school-based Medicaid claimingOther Duties: Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in OTSupervise graduate student interns or clinical fellows (if applicable)Contribute to school initiatives and serve as a communicate resource for staff and administrationOther duties as assigned by the Director of Special EducationJob Specifications:Education, Training, and Experience Required: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited programEligibility to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of IndianaValid Indiana License in Occupational TherapyExperience working with children and adolescents in educational settings is preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: Displays dependability and punctualityProfessional disposition and the ability to work with various staff and community membersAbility to maintain confidentiality of informationStrong organizational skills and ability to work independentlyCreative thinking and solution-focused mindset to identify and deliver services across multiple settings and environmentsIn-depth knowledge of IDEA, Article 7, and evaluation processesAssumes responsibility to remain current in the field of Special Education and Occupational Therapy in relation to evaluations and processesWorking Conditions:Position works indoors in a typical school settingMay work near others, often within a few feetMay occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distractingThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
