Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Special Education Teacher to join a supportive junior high team in Calumet City, IL for the 2026-2027 school year! This onsite opportunity is ideal for someone who values building long-term relationships within a school community and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment for students.
Position Details:
Location: Calumet City, IL
Position: Special Education Teacher
Start Date: August 17th, 2026
End Date: June 2nd, 2027
Hours: 33.75 hours/week
Setting: Junior High School
Class Size: 20 students or fewer
Setting Type: Onsite ONLY
Hourly Rate: $40+/hour
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
Junior high through high school applicable experience required
Experience or comfortability with Science, English, or Math is a plus
Must have a student-focused approach to teaching
Career consistency is highly valued, as the district hopes this will become a long-term placement
