Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiology

Overview Geisinger\'s Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the growing cardiology department at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities 10-hour day shifts are optional Collaborate with the physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service Demonstrates autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care Manage and assist in the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs and outreach cardiology clinics Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner Qualifications Education: Master\'s Degree - Nurse Practitioner (Required) Certification(s) and License(s): Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; Basic Life Support Certification; Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania Geisinger offers Advanced Practitioners Domestic Partner Benefits Paid malpractice insurance Market competitive wages - constantly monitored Generous Paid Time Off policy Funding for CME and paid CME days Relocation for qualified candidates Health Care Benefits Starting Day 1: including vision and dental Interview expenses for qualified candidates Position Details: Education requirements noted above.
