As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to utility personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow established response procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazardous conditions, suspicious activity, and security-related policy violations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State security guard license.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
