Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Overview


The Mobile Engineer will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. The role requires technical expertise in one craft area with multi-skilled capabilities.


Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper functioning of systems.
• Maintain facility services, conduct preventative maintenance, manage purchasing and inventory, monitor contracted maintenance, and ensure technical proficiency.
• Maintain equipment including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to ensure HVAC and related systems operate efficiently.
• Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Comply with safety policies for hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform periodic checks of tools and instrument inventories.
• Monitor quality and costs of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
• Follow all safety procedures and recognize hazards to propose elimination methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5-7 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
• Must have an EPA Universal completed
• Ability to analyze the operation of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and take corrective actions
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
• Valid driver's license
• A Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is not required for this role
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
