Business Development Manager - Largo, FL

Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Business Development Manager for a growing manufacturing client near Largo, FL.


This role will be responsible for managing the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and opportunity development through proposal creation, contract negotiation, and project transition to internal teams. They will also be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and expanding the company's customer base. The Business Development Manager will work closely with cross-functional departments including Research & Development, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to ensure successful client onboarding and long-term partnership development.

• Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue growth and market expansion goals.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, industry outreach, and targeted prospecting.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.

• Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and technical solutions tailored to client needs.

• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to secure profitable and sustainable business partnerships.

• Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and track progress using CRM systems.

• Act as a strategic partner to customers by identifying opportunities and recommending solutions that align with their operational goals.

• Support the seamless transition of new projects from Business Development to Client Services and Operations teams.

• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and onboarding process.

• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activities to support strategic decision-making.

• Leverage industry relationships to identify potential target clients and emerging market opportunities.

• Maintain a strong understanding of company capabilities, services, and competitive positioning.

• Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to develop project feasibility assessments, pricing models, and customer proposals.

• Partner with finance to generate pricing estimates including feasibility studies, prototype costs, testing, and production pricing.

• Participate in product and process innovation initiatives to deliver solutions that benefit both customers and the organization.

• Support the company's digital presence including website content, LinkedIn, and other social platforms.

• Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and professional association meetings .

• Assist with marketing initiatives that strengthen brand awareness and market presence.

• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

• Report safety hazards and promote a safe working environment.

• Follow company operational and quality standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.

• 5+ years of business development or sales experience , preferably within a manufacturing, product development, or contract services environment.

• Experience managing complex sales cycles and strategic customer relationships.

• Strong negotiation and closing skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.

• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office applications .

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across departments.
