Position Title: Senior Google Ads Specialist Work Set-up: WFH Schedule: 7:00AM-4:00PM Salary: 80,000-100,000 We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Google Ads Specialist to join a fast-growing, Perth-based digital agency specialising in SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation), Google Ads, web design and AI automation. This is not a generalist marketing role. We want a true Google Ads expert who lives and breathes paid search, knows the platform inside out, and will take full ownership of the agency’s Google Ads accounts across a growing client portfolio. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision, proactively identify opportunities, and bring fresh ideas and best practices to the team—not just match the agency’s current level of expertise, but raise it. Experience driving direct bookings for hotels, resorts and accommodation providers is a major advantage. Over time, the role will grow to include client-facing communication and strategy discussions. Your Responsibilities as a Senior Google Ads Specialist: Manage Google Ads accounts end-to-end, including strategy development, campaign setup, optimisation, and performance monitoring. Plan, build, and launch campaigns across Search, Performance Max, Display, YouTube/Video, Demand Gen, and Shopping. Develop and optimise campaigns for hotels, resorts, and accommodation providers, focusing on increasing direct bookings and maximising return on ad spend. Conduct account audits, keyword research, competitor analysis, and search term reviews to identify growth opportunities and minimise wasted advertising spend. Optimise bidding strategies, budgets, keywords, audiences, ad copy, creative assets, and landing pages to improve campaign performance. Set up, test, and maintain conversion tracking and attribution using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), enhanced conversions, and offline conversion imports. Conduct A/B testing on ad copy, creative assets, bidding strategies, and landing pages to improve conversion rates. Monitor campaign performance against key metrics, including ROAS, CPA, conversion volume, and budget utilisation. Prepare performance reports and dashboards using Looker Studio and other reporting tools, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Utilise Google Ads Editor, scripts, and third-party PPC tools to automate processes and improve campaign efficiency. Proactively recommend new strategies, platform features, and best practices to improve paid advertising performance. Collaborate with SEO, web development, and marketing automation teams to align paid campaigns with SEO, GEO, and conversion rate optimisation initiatives. Support SEO and GEO activities as required, including keyword research, on-page recommendations, content briefs, and technical checks. Gradually take on client-facing responsibilities, including presenting results, discussing campaign strategies, and managing client expectations. Manage multiple client accounts and advertising budgets independently while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and consistent delivery. Your Qualifications as a Senior Google Ads Specialist: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related discipline is preferred. Minimum of 4 to 5 years of hands-on Google Ads experience, managing campaigns end-to-end at a senior level. Previous digital agency experience managing multiple client accounts and advertising budgets simultaneously is strongly preferred. Experience in the hotel, resort, travel, or hospitality industry, particularly in driving direct bookings and managing Performance Max for travel and Hotel Ads, is highly desirable. Strong expertise across Google Ads campaign types, including Search, Performance Max, Display, YouTube/Video, Demand Gen, and Shopping. Advanced knowledge of bidding strategies, keyword research, negative keyword management, audience targeting, ad copy testing, and campaign optimisation. Proficiency in conversion tracking and analytics tools, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, enhanced conversions, and offline conversion imports. Experience using Google Ads Editor, Google Ads scripts, Looker Studio, and third-party PPC tools for automation, reporting, and optimisation. Demonstrated ability to improve ROAS, reduce CPA, and increase conversion volume, supported by measurable results or case studies. Google Ads certifications in Search, Display, Video, Shopping, and Measurement are preferred. Knowledge of SEO, GEO, and AI-driven search optimisation is an advantage. Familiarity with GoHighLevel or similar CRM and marketing automation platforms is desirable. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain campaign performance and recommendations clearly. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach to campaign management. Self-motivated, proactive, organised, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to introduce new ideas, identify opportunities, and elevate the agency's paid advertising capabilities. Key Performance Expectations Google Ads accounts are managed proactively, with campaigns aligned to client objectives and budgets. Campaign optimisation decisions are supported by accurate tracking, analysis and documented testing. Performance reporting is clear, timely and translates data into practical recommendations. Budgets are paced effectively and opportunities to improve ROAS, CPA and conversion volume are identified and actioned. The specialist stays current with platform changes and contributes practical ideas and best practices to the wider team.
