Outpatient Primary Care Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and patient‑centered Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing adult base primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, high‑quality care to patients across the lifespan, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions to patients 14 years and above Perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical protocols Deliver preventive care, including wellness exams, immunizations, and health screenings Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment plans Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in quality improvement initiatives and population health management Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and compliance standards Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Current and unrestricted NP or PA license in the state of practice National board certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA) Current DEA license or ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS preferred) Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in primary care (new graduates may be considered) Skills & Competencies Strong clinical decision‑making and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Strong organizational and time‑management abilities Proficiency with EMR systems Work Environment & Schedule Outpatient primary care clinic setting Call rotation with other providers in clinic Team‑based, collaborative environment Incentives & Benefits Package Paid malpractice insurance Coverage for medical, behavioral health, prescription drugs, dental and vision Well‑being resources, including free counseling Life insurance 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions Time off, including disability coverage Supplemental health protection plans Flexible spending accountsFinancial well‑being resources Family‑focused and voluntary benefits CME dues allowance and license reimbursement About the Employer 378‑bed facility, 12 operating suites Over 3,000 deliveries performed annually Dedicated women’s pavilion features seven antepartum beds, 16 labor‑and‑delivery suites, 35 postpartum rooms and 16 Level III NICU beds Dedicated entrance and OB emergency department Dedicated OB surgical suites Dedicated perinatal navigation services Methodist Healthcare System is the largest provider of health care in South and Central Texas with 28 facilities, including nine acute care hospitals serving over 94,000 inpatients and 500,000 outpatients annually #J-18808-Ljbffr Methodist Healthcare System
