Locums | OB/GYN Hospitalist | Santa Cruz, CA (CA license required) Why This Role

• Defined 6-month coverage need starting in July
• Light call volume: 6-8 shifts/month
• Strong support: 24/7 anesthesia (10 MDs), Level III NICU partnership with Stanford
• Board-eligible accepted, not only board-certified
• Local Bay Area providers preferred
Assignment Details
• Start: July 2026, ongoing for ~6 months
• Schedule: 24-hour in-house hospital call (7:30a-7:30a)
• Commitment: 6-8 call shifts per month
• Setting: Inpatient OB hospitalist (includes OB ED coverage)
• Volume: 60-65 deliveries/month facility-wide; ~2 deliveries/day
• Patient mix: mostly low-risk, underserved populations; 25-30% c-section rate
• Support: ultrasonographer, 24/7 anesthesia coverage (10 MDs), Level III NICU
• EMR: Cerner
• Credentialing: hospital privileges can be issued while foundation privileges are processed
• OB hospitalist must remain in-house for entire call shift (patients on pitocin require onsite monitoring)
Clinical Details
• Inpatient OB hospitalist with OB ED coverage
• Required: vaginal deliveries, c-section (assist required), urgent OB/GYN case management
• Pitocin monitoring required onsite
• No elective abortions or postpartum tubal ligations (except during c-sections)
• Bilingual providers strongly preferred
• Recent/current laborist experience required (not predominantly GYN or aesthetics)
Requirements
• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible OB/GYN
• ACGME-accredited residency
• Active CA license
• Active DEA
• BLS, ACLS
• Clean malpractice history (no exceptions)
• Self-query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
• Available to start as soon as credentialed
• Recent laborist experience required
Compensation
• Rate negotiable, open to your number
