Job Title: Production Supervisor Job Description
The Production Supervisor leads a shift within a modern, automated manufacturing facility, overseeing production operations, personnel, and process performance. This role focuses on driving team performance, optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards, and maintaining accurate production data. The supervisor collaborates closely with cross-functional departments to minimize downtime, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and support a stable, efficient, and compliant production environment.
Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate shift personnel to achieve production performance targets and meet technical key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Train and onboard new operators on standard work instructions, machinery operation, and corporate safety policies.
• Coordinate personnel capacity with the Production Controller to balance staffing schedules across multiple manufacturing lines.
• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput times, and process stability.
• Implement and enforce defined corporate and automotive manufacturing standards on the shop floor.
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues by partnering with Maintenance, Engineering, and Logistical departments to minimize machine downtime.
• Enforce quality protocols in collaboration with Process Control Inspectors (PCI) to eliminate defects and reduce customer complaints.
• Maintain the Environmental Management System and support rigorous safety compliance across all production activities.
• Ensure data integrity by accurately documenting production yields, scrap rates, and audit results.
• Monitor, analyze, and improve OEE and manufacturing cycle times to support continuous process improvement.
• Provide clear direction, feedback, and coaching to team members to build skills and maintain high performance standards.
• Support capacity planning efforts to align staffing levels with changing production volume demands.
• Apply blueprint and tool literacy to guide operators and verify that production meets engineering specifications.
• Uphold corporate policies and manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent and compliant operations.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience in production supervision and manufacturing operations within a high-volume setting.
• Strong safety mindset with demonstrated ability to enforce corporate safety policies on the shop floor.
• Proficiency in monitoring, analyzing, and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and manufacturing cycle times.
• Ability to optimize manufacturing processes to improve throughput, stability, and equipment performance.
• Capacity planning skills, including managing personnel schedules and balancing staffing levels alongside production controllers.
• Proficiency in reading engineering blueprints and understanding manufacturing parameters.
• Ability to use standard measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers to verify product specifications.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills, including team motivation, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with internal teams and OEM or corporate partners.
• Solid understanding of automotive manufacturing practices and industrial production environments.
• Ability to implement and enforce corporate and automotive manufacturing standards.
• Experience in troubleshooting production issues and coordinating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Logistics to resolve problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with injection molding or metal stamping processes is highly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certifications in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field are a plus.
• Knowledge of production management and process improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with environmental management systems and safety compliance requirements.
• Strong management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and oversee multiple production lines.
• Comfort working with fully automated machinery and modern industrial equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of production yields, scrap rates, and audit results.
• Skill in enforcing quality protocols in collaboration with Process Control Inspectors (PCI).

Work Environment
This role operates in a brand-new, climate-controlled warehouse with fully automated manufacturing equipment, providing a clean, modern, and comfortable production environment. The position is on the second shift, typically running from 4:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., supporting consistent and stable operations. You will work on and around advanced industrial machinery and measuring tools, collaborating closely with production, maintenance, engineering, logistics, and quality teams on the shop floor. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety standards, quality protocols, and corporate manufacturing procedures while maintaining efficient, high-volume output.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Easley, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
