Information Technology Director

The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking an Information Technology Director to join the IT team. Who are we? What will you do? The Information Technology (IT) Director is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Auditor’s Office’s IT functions including, but not limited to, user support services, business systems support, project coordination, operational procedures, documentation standards, and vendor management. The IT Director supervises, develops, and evaluates staff; ensures that technology initiatives align with the objectives of the organization while serving as the Agency liaison with the Franklin County Data Center. This position provides technical leadership in IT systems planning; leads internal projects requiring technical knowledge; makes well thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous IT planning issues and communicates effectively with leadership on IT related matters; responds to computer-related requests; and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase operational efficiency. Develops policies and procedures that outline how problems are identified, documented, assigned and corrected; stay current with IT trends and remain highly technically competent. Coordinates with service provider for disaster recovery planning and testing. Monitors business system performance through the use of metrics and statistical process control methods. Provides regular reports including schedules and updates regarding projects and their status and completion; develop and enforce request handling and escalation policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with customers and leadership on IT related matters. Who should apply? Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business information systems or computer information systems; a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Information Technology; solid working experience with Windows desktop and server support and administration; experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange mail server, file server; ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and manage time to ensure deadlines are met; experience with technology planning and implementation; strong technical planning and project management experience; experience developing and managing processes and procedures, technical designs, and system documentation; familiar with system and application security and compliance; demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication and customer service skills. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification is preferred.
