Neonatal Nurse PractitionerThe NNP provides advanced clinical care to premature, critically ill and medically complex newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and affiliated newborn care settings. The NNP works collaboratively with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based neonatal care.Position SummaryThe NNP provides advanced clinical care to premature, critically ill and medically complex newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and affiliated newborn care settings. The NNP works collaboratively with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based neonatal care.HoursPRN (24-hour shifts, 12 HR AM and 12 HR PM shifts)Qualifications:Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner programCurrent Missouri APRN license or eligibility for licensureNational certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC)Current BLS and NRP certificationsNICU experience preferredStrong clinical judgement, communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to patient-centered and family-focused careAbility to manage high-acuity neonatal patients in coordination with the 24/7 in house neonatologistExperience in Level III or Level IV NICU settingsDelivery room experienceKey ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of neonatal patients in the NICU settingDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans to critically ill and premature infantsPerform advanced neonatal procedures including intubation, line placement, lumbar puncture, and neonatal resuscitationCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomesCommunicate effectively with families regarding patient status, treatment plans, and educationParticipate in delivery attendance for high-risk birthsMaintain accurate and timely medical documentation via EPIC EMRSupport quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based neonatal practices
