Role Description This full-time, on-site Electrical Estimator role is based in Tampa, FL. The Electrical Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate material and labor estimates for electrical contracting projects. Daily tasks include performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing job costs, requesting and reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotes, and preparing detailed bid proposals. The role collaborates with project managers and engineers to clarify scope, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support project budgeting and scheduling. The Electrical Estimator also updates estimate databases, maintains records of bids, and participates in pre-construction meetings to ensure smooth project handoffs and alignment with client requirements. Qualifications Ability to perform Electrical Estimating for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, including detailed quantity takeoffs and bid preparation. Skills in Cost Control and budget analysis to support accurate pricing, margin protection, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle. knowledge of electrical contracting practices, including code compliance, installation methods, and typical project workflows. Understanding of Electricity fundamentals and Electrical Engineering concepts to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Experience with estimating software Accubid and proficiency in general office software (e.g., MS Excel, Word). Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, engineers, field teams, and vendors. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and electrical schematics. Prior experience in electrical estimating or electrical contracting is highly preferred; relevant technical training or a degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field is beneficial.
