Summary About the Position: The incumbent serves as the Director of Emergency Services at a large multi-mission military installation and as such, is the primary responsible manager for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention that encompasses a variety of sensitive and critical garrison wide programs directly affecting the life, health, and safety of all garrison employees, students, family members, retirees, and visitors. - Coordinate emergency response protocols with local civilian authorities to ensure seamless community integration during crisis events.
- Supervise subordinate emergency personnel during high-risk operations to maintain strict compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage the directorate operational budget carefully to prevent financial waste and secure essential resources for future missions.
- Inspect commercial and industrial facilities regularly to enforce fire prevention codes and eliminate hazardous workplace conditions.
- Formulate strategic garrison emergency plans proactively to address evolving threats and support global power projection platforms.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement occasionally.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
