Job Description and Duties

CCHCS seeks to fill a Permanent/Full-Time Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) position in the Medical Services, Clinical Operations, Telemedicine Team.

Under the general direction of the Chief Physician and Surgeon, Telemedicine Services Program and in accordance with CCHCS standards, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as applicable legal mandates, the Telemedicine Primary Care Physician evaluates and treats patients and provides preventive services via electronic information and telecommunication technologies, supporting appropriate access to primary care services for all California patients, particularly those incarcerated in rural prisons. The Telemedicine Primary Care Physician supports institution-based primary care teams and provides clinical direction to non-physician primary care team members on matters that impact the care of patients as appropriate. This position participates in program development and implementation activities, and statewide quality improvement efforts. Provider on call duties and travel to prisons and other health care settings required.

This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. Working Conditions

About the location Rancho Cucamonga, Diamond Bar, Santa Ana and Sacramento.

The positions are eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
