Sales Manager

Job Summary A pivotal leader responsible for driving sales growth and fostering a high-performing sales team. The role involves executing personnel and store sales initiatives to achieve revenue targets, consistently upholding the company’s ethos of prioritizing people and delivering exceptional products. Key Responsibilities Achieve or surpass store and individual sales goals, annual operating benchmarks, and personal objectives. Promote the In‑home design program; champion the selling process on the sales floor and evaluate team performance. Provide coaching, training and support to sales teams to improve techniques, strategies and overall performance. Ensure staff delivers exceptional customer service, builds long‑term relationships, and fosters loyalty. Recruit, train and mentor staff to meet sales targets while fostering a positive work environment. Maintain the store’s brand image, values, and customer experience standards; ensure layout, presentation and interactions align with guidelines. Support company‑wide marketing initiatives, promotions and store events. Resolve customer concerns that may interfere with efficient sales operations. Collaborate with support teams to ensure flawless execution of operational excellence and new systems. Ensure cleanliness and visual standards in the store. Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. 1–3 years retail sales experience, preferably in a retail environment with a sales focus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Financial understanding, strong interpersonal communication, analytical ability and goal orientation. Team‑management experience. Ability to work the schedule demanded by business needs—including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to pass background and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a retail sales team. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to build effective relationships. Physical Demands Lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Stand for long periods. Use repetitive hand motions, hearing and listening. Walk, bend and stoop as required. Compensation Training Pay: $20 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission). Base Pay after training: $10,400 per year. Commission: Uncapped 6% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales, 4% on other sales. Monthly bonus opportunity up to $1,500 based on store sales goals. Benefits Medical, vision, dental and basic life insurance. 401(k) retirement plan with company match up to 6%.
