Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerBerkeley, California, United StatesPosition ID: P-758538Position status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: DaysLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-26$2,703.83/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a CA license and strong neuro patient care skills for a demanding critical care unit.DetailsICU setting with a high volume of neurological patientsDay shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PMEvery other weekend required plus additional weekends based on unit needsOn-call responsibilities as neededPatient ratio of 1:2May float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick Campus, with shuttle service provided when floatingFloating notice typically given 1.5 hours prior to shift startEpic charting system experience requiredRequirementsActive CA RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredNIHSS certification requiredCPI certification preferredMinimum 3 years of RN ICU experience requiredAt least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferredProficiency in neurological patient care required, including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury careExperience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory care requiredExperience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management requiredExperience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmia management requiredExperience with central line, arterial line, and PICC line management requiredExperience with blood product administration and IV therapy requiredChemotherapy administration experience preferredChest tube insertion/removal assistance experience preferredBiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula management experience preferredFloTrac/Vigileo and Pulmonary Artery/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferredSheath removal and thermoregulation experience preferred2 supervisor references obtained within the past year requiredAdditional InformationProvide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and renal conditionsMust reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the local rateHoliday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday request approved per contractMaximum RTO of 7 days per contractReturning travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year before reapplyingMust complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signingRe-orientation required only if separated 6+ months since last shift and if prior orientation was completed at this facilityFirst-time travelers are not being considered for this role
