EXPERIENCED PLAINTIFF PI LITIGATION PARALEGAL

I am direct recruiting for a respected and growing personal injury law firm in South Austin who is looking for a highly motivated, hands on, and experienced trial litigation paralegal to join its litigation team. This is not an entry-level position and not simply another job managing files.

We are looking for someone who knows plaintiff personal injury litigation, someone who has trial experience, and who understands how to work cases from inception through close of matter. As a Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role in managing cases from litigation through resolution, working closely with attorneys and clients throughout the process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage plaintiff personal injury litigation files from inception through settlement, mediation, and trial.
• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation and case preparation.
• Draft, proofread, format, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and coordinate written discovery, including discovery requests and responses.
• Review, organize, analyze, and summarize medical records, medical bills, police reports, photographs, and other evidence.
• Assist with deposition preparation and organization.
• Prepare mediation packages, exhibits, trial notebooks, and other litigation materials.
• Track and manage statutes of limitation, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates.
• Maintain accurate calendars and case-management systems.
• Assist with court filings and monitor case dockets.
• Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, billing records, liens, and supporting documentation.
• Assist attorneys with evaluating damages and preparing cases for settlement or trial.
• Maintain highly organized and accurate electronic and physical case files.
• Anticipate attorney needs and take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done.

Required:

• 4+ years of legal/paralegal experience.
• 2+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience.
• 4+ years of legal document drafting experience.
• Certified Paralegal (preferred).
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
• Strong understanding of plaintiff personal injury litigation.
• Experience with pleadings, motions, discovery, medical records, court filings, and litigation deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong computer and legal technology skills.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate what attorneys need.
• Professional, polished, and client-focused demeanor.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in South Austin.
