Overtime, weekend work, and schedule adjustments may be required based on business needs and will be compensated in accordance with federal and California law.Prepared: September 2026 Salary Range: $24-$26 Hourly (DOE)Position OverviewThe Human Resources Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department in a food manufacturing environment. The role supports recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, employee relations intake, orientation, HR document control, reporting trackers, and seasonal workforce activities while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.This position performs clerical, administrative, and customer service functions in support of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Clerk does not supervise employees, does not have authority to hire, terminate, discipline, promote, evaluate, or independently resolve employee relations issues, and does not exercise independent discretion or judgment on matters of significance.Essential FunctionsCoordinate end-to-end onboarding support including new hire paperwork, I-9 processing, pre-employment requirements, orientation scheduling, personnel file creation, and HRIS entry.Conduct standardized new hire orientation using established materials and procedures and track completion, compliance, safety, and onboarding training requirements.Provide clerical and administrative support for leave administration processes, including document distribution, record maintenance, deadline tracking, and coordination of required documentation under established procedures.Assist with benefits enrollment, status changes, open enrollment activities, employee inquiries, and carrier documentation.Provide English and Spanish translation support for employee communications, forms, meetings, and HR materials.Maintain employee concern tracking logs and route concerns to appropriate HR staff while preserving confidentiality.Maintain HR document control processes including personnel files, policy acknowledgements, forms, and records retention.Order and maintain HR office supplies and onboarding materials.Schedule candidate interviews and coordinate recruiting logistics with hiring managers and applicants.Maintain and update trackers for performance reviews, employee objectives and goals, and annual merit cycle activities.During seasonal ramp-up periods, assist with seasonal hiring letters, recruiting activities, onboarding support, and workforce administration.Prepare reports, audit data, file records, and perform other HR administrative duties as assigned.QualificationsQualificationsRequires a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.Requires two years of administrative, clerical, customer service, or HR support experience; HR experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.Strong understanding of HR administrative processes, confidentiality requirements, onboarding, leave administration, and benefits support.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, databases, and learning management systems.Bilingual English/Spanish required.Physical Demands & Working ConditionsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Frequent walking through office and production areas.Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.Exposure to food manufacturing environments, varying temperatures, moderate noise, and agricultural dust when visiting production areas.DisclaimerJob descriptions are not intended, and should not be construed, to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with a job.
