Production Supervisor - 2nd shift PFM

Production Supervisor – Franklin, WI Overview Responsible for supervising production employees at Saputo’s new 340,000 square foot conversion facility, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Plan, assign, and direct work of supervised staff to maximize productivity. Ensure proper procedures are followed for production efficiency, product quality, employee safety, and state/federal guidelines. Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct machine setup and adjustments. Coordinate and communicate production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements. Evaluate and anticipate production volume adjustments, assign daily duties, and adjust work procedures to meet production run schedules. Use the ERP system to complete production data entry, reporting OEE, planned/unplanned downtime, and other production metrics. Review production/packaging records, Master Cleaning Sanitation Lists, schedules, accident reports, investigations, and related documents. Coordinate and conduct employee training (job, safety, etc.) and monitor work performance. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality; analyze root causes and communicate preventive measures using CI methods. Maintain time and production records and maintain documentation as required. Collaborate cross‑functionally with other departments to meet performance objectives. Provide supervision of scheduled and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, and performance management. Participate in grievance or contract related activities if a collective bargaining agreement exists. Support progressive disciplinary actions in partnership with Human Resources. Promote and enforce safety programs to reduce incidents and near‑misses. Train and instruct employees on production and equipment standards and processes. Adhere to Saputo code of ethics and values. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications & Experience One to three years of supervisory experience in a food packaging environment preferred. Associate’s degree in Operations Management or equivalent experience. Proficiency defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Experience leading and following Safety/Security policies and procedures. Proficient with ERP solutions; SAP preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer‑based applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Team player and leader able to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team. Understanding of cost containment and budgetary principles. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to support plant operations. Demonstrates professionalism and represents Saputo positively. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, changing temperatures, and physical demands up to 40 lbs lift.
