Job Summary Pikes Peak State College is seeking a full-time faculty member to stand up our newest Bachelor’s Degree offering in Healthcare Administration and Management. A successful candidate will ensure program compliance with accreditation bodies, curriculum development, accreditation compliance, continuous program development, and development of any future programs in the Healthcare BAS discipline. The role also encompasses instructional quality, faculty oversight, budget and resource management, and ongoing program improvement. This is a 9-month faculty appointment within a collaborative and growing Health Sciences Division committed to excellence, accreditation compliance, and student success. Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course. Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts. This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations. Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools. REPORTS TO: Associate Dean of Health Sciences Minimum Qualifications Possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Documented 2 years of full-time work experience in healthcare administration, healthcare management, education, or business management. Demonstrated skills working in a diverse population. Have documented education or experience in program curriculum design, student learning/performance and/or program planning. Ability to communicate clearly with diverse groups to include administration, stakeholders, employees and students. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in education, healthcare, or related field from a Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accredited institution. Documented 4 years of full-time work experience in healthcare administration, healthcare management, education, or management. Experience teaching in online programs in a postsecondary setting. Demonstrated success increasing diversity of students/employees and implementing diversity initiatives. Background in building online curriculum or shared learning environments. Budgeting, purchasing, and grant management experience in academic or clinical settings. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated success in launching or expanding management, administration or allied health programs. Duties & Responsibilities Faculty/Student Interaction Demonstrates a commitment to teaching. Materials and Preparation/Relevancy Maintains current and relevant syllabus, following State guidelines when indicated. Reviews and updates course materials. Uses evaluation methods related to and appropriate for course content. Informs students in writing, of the objectives of the course content. Uses supplemental resources in addition to textbook or other course materials. Participate in all aspects of department and/or college level assessment of student learning outcomes in general education and career/technical courses and programs as required. Record keeping and Instructional Management Keep scheduled office hours, including providing regular student office hours. Meets classes as scheduled for prescribed time. Submits required reports and documents. Attends required Divisional meetings. Professionalism Seeks to maintain a high quality of instruction by remaining current on discipline specific and pedagogical issues. Collaborates with colleagues in a professional manner. Uses communication techniques that foster collegiality when problem solving. Works to resolve conflicts in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Contributes to the promotion of an excellent educational climate within the college as a whole, as well as within the division and department. Promoting Division/College Quality of Instruction Assist, as requested, with the development of the term class schedule and the college catalog. Assist with curriculum review, revision, development and implementation within the department. Assist in the development and maintenance of course outlines and course syllabi. Assist in textbook selection and adoption. Assist with student advising and student registration. Maintain a program advisory committee, as appropriate. Participate in professional development activities as requested by the dean. Assist with program reviews as required by appropriate agencies, e.g., NCA. Professional Contributions Serve on college discipline, department, and community committees and task forces on behalf of the college. Assist with Divisional activities as requested by the dean. Assist with student recruitment as appropriate. Assist with the development and implementation of alternative modes of instructional delivery, e.g., Internet or ITV, as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned by the dean, the Vice President for Instructional Services and/or the College President. General Duties Cultural competence and commitment to helping to close the student equity gap at our institution. Demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based, inclusive teaching strategies and curriculum development for the classroom environment. Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate teaching activities and curriculum. Demonstrates ability to employ qualitative and quantitative analytical skills in the classroom. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates ability to maintain accurate written student records as required by policy and procedure. Demonstrates ability to inform students of all course requirements. Demonstrates ability to evaluate students and offer feedback on a continuing basis. Demonstrates ability to relate to student concerns and maintain open communication. Demonstrates ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Serve as primary faculty for the Healthcare Administration and Management program in accordance with PPSC requirements and any future accreditation standards. Ensure the BAS program aligns with HLC and CCCS guidelines. Provide leadership for the development and oversight of BAS Healthcare Administration and Management program including future BAS offerings. Manage curriculum development, academic planning, and program assessment in line with accreditation and industry standards. Lead continuous quality improvement efforts for all programs using data-informed processes. Supervise and evaluate program part-time instructors; promote inclusive, high-impact instructional practices. Cultivate and maintain strong community partnerships to support student placement and job pipelines. Lead program reporting for institutional effectiveness, grant accountability, and program review. Manage program budgets, instructional resources, and equipment procurement. Teaches courses as assigned within instructor workload guidelines and meets all scheduled classes unless the class has been canceled. Attend scheduled department, division, or college meetings. Additionally, opportunities may be offered to serve as substitute instructors within the program to cover short-term absences of colleagues. These assignments are determined by Executive Dean, or Associate Dean. Maintains a work schedule as agreed upon by the supervisor and in concert with the state and instructor workload policy Provides adequate preparation of the course material for all assigned courses. Supervises and enforces appropriate safety procedures. Competencies/KSAs Set program goals and strategic initiatives aligned with accreditation requirements, college mission, and healthcare workforce needs. Serve as the primary contact for future accreditation correspondence, compliance, and reporting. Engage with advisory boards to inform and guide program growth and updates. Monitor certification, accreditation, and workforce trends across healthcare administration and management. Participate in grant writing and implementation to support and expand programs. Support recruitment, student advising, and retention initiatives. Represent healthcare administration and management program at institutional meetings, public events, and statewide collaborations. Strong understanding of healthcare education, including online classroom instruction. Ability to design, assess, and revise health science curricula based on regulatory standards and workforce needs. Skill in faculty mentorship, supervision, and performance evaluation. Effective leadership, planning, and organizational skills across multiple program areas. Commitment to equity and inclusive practices in health education. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage program budgets and ensure proper resource allocation. Proficiency in managing education reports, outcomes data, and student assessments. Additional Information/Benefits Work Life Balance Faculty are required to work 166 duty days. Pikes Peak State College offers a generous amount of 74 hours of faculty sick leave and 16 hours of personal leave. There are paid holidays and alternate paid holidays which allow the college to be closed Christmas Day through New Year's Day. Eligibility is defined by your employment FTE status.
