Senior Commercial HVAC Technician

Location: Southeast Florida | Broward, Miami-Dade & Palm Beach Counties
Compensation: $75,000–$90,000+ annually
Position Type: Full-Time | Field-Based

About the Role

Air Force HVAC is a growing South Florida HVAC company providing commercial HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation throughout the tri-county area.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Technician who can handle complex diagnostics, repairs, and installations while serving as a technical leader for the field team.

This is a hands-on role — not a desk job. You’ll spend the majority of your time in the field troubleshooting equipment, completing repairs, supporting installations, and helping less-experienced technicians develop their skills.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, service, maintain, repair, and install commercial HVAC systems

• Work with VRF, VAV, rooftop units, split systems, package units, and related commercial equipment

• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, airflow, controls, and refrigerant issues

• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment failures

• Handle advanced service calls and technical issues escalated by other technicians

• Support commercial equipment replacements and installations

• Serve as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level technicians

• Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, efficiency, and code compliance

• Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and equipment needs clearly with customers and management

• Maintain accurate job notes, photos, parts usage, and service documentation

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC field experience

• Strong experience with VRF, VAV, rooftop units, package units, and commercial split systems

• Advanced mechanical, electrical, airflow, and refrigerant diagnostic skills

• Experience with commercial HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation

• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation

• Comfortable troubleshooting complex systems independently

• Ability to mentor and support less-experienced technicians

• Strong communication and customer-service skills

• Experience with Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar field-service software

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
