Are you a skilled and dedicated Intervention Specialist seeking an exciting career opportunity? Birch Agency is hiring passionate professionals like you to make a positive impact on the lives of students. This is an onsite full-time contract position for Elementary and Middle school students in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
- Provide specialized instruction and support to help students achieve academic and social goals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
Skills:
- Proven experience as an Intervention Specialist or Special Education Teacher
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methodology
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly, reliable, and adaptable
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (or related field)
- Valid state (OH) teaching certification/license as an Intervention Specialist or Substitute Unlimited
- Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
