Auto Body Shop General Manager

We are not slowing down — we are scaling up. To do that, we need a General Manager who is ready to own this business and run it. This is not a senior foreman role or a right-hand-to-the-owner position. This is a true GM seat — full authority over daily operations, the team, production, customer experience, and financial results. The owners are ready to step back. We need someone ready to step in. If you are the kind of leader who builds systems, develops people, holds the shop accountable, and improves performance week over week — this is the role you have been waiting for. What You Will Own 1. Operational Excellence Lead the daily production meeting and drive shop prioritization Ensure safe, proper, and on-time repairs — every vehicle, every time Own quality control, SOP adherence, and continuous cycle-time improvement Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and equipment standards 2. People Leadership Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team of 10+ people Conduct documented 1:1s, set clear expectations, and give direct feedback Hire (and when necessary, remove) team members within your authority Create a culture where people grow personally, professionally, and financially 3. Financial Performance Own the P&L — hit monthly revenue and gross margin targets Monitor KPIs weekly; identify trends and act before they become problems Manage parts, labor, and sublet costs against budget 4. Customer Experience Maintain a 97%+ CSI score across all customer touchpoints Oversee fleet account relationships — professional, responsive, proactive Resolve escalated customer issues quickly and with ownership 5. Continuous Improvement & Systems Attack recurring problems at the root — not just the symptom Build and document SOPs that make the business run without you in the room Partner with ownership on AI, automation, and systems initiatives Lead the team through change with buy-in and consistency Who You Are The right candidate brings more than a resume. Accountability builder — you set expectations, follow through, and hold others to standard without being punitive Systems thinker — you see patterns, build processes, and remove the same problem forever Coach and developer — you make people better and take pride in it Direct communicator — you tell ownership what they need to hear, not what they want to hear Change agent — you lead transitions, earn buy-in, and execute against the plan Operator — you are comfortable in a fast-paced shop environment while simultaneously working to systematize it Qualifications Required: 5+ years of management experience in collision repair, automotive service, or a related operational environment Demonstrated P&L responsibility for an operation of similar or larger scale Track record of leading teams of 10+ people with real accountability Experience with collision/auto industry estimating and management systems (CCC preferred) Documented examples of process improvement and operational systematization Strong financial literacy — you read, analyze, and act on financials, not just report them Preferred: GM or Operations Director experience in a multi-shop or franchise environment I-CAR Platinum Estimating or Production Management certification Experience managing fleet account relationships Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodology Experience leading a team through significant change or organizational growth #J-18808-Ljbffr Maaco of Mansfield
