Billing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented GovCon Billing Specialist to handle the full billing process for government contracts. This person will prepare and submit invoices, work in Deltek Costpoint, and work with program managers, contracts, and finance teams to make sure billing is accurate and completed on time. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit invoices for government contracts based on contract terms and funding requirements. Handle billing for different contract types, including CPFF, T&M, FFP, and Cost Reimbursable contracts. Manage the billing process in Deltek Costpoint, including creating, reviewing, and submitting invoices through WAWF/iRAPT or similar systems. Review billed amounts against contract funding and labor/cost details to prevent billing errors. Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up with contracting officers and program teams. Help with month-end close, including revenue, unbilled amounts, and billing accruals. Maintain billing records and supporting documents for audits and compliance. Work with contracts, program management, and accounting teams on funding changes and contract close-outs. Help with audits and billing reports as needed. Research and fix billing issues and discrepancies. Required Qualifications 3+ years of government contract billing experience, preferably with federal contracts. Experience using Deltek Costpoint, including the billing module. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reconciliations. Understanding of government contract types, including CPFF, T&M, FFP, and Cost Reimbursable. Experience with government billing systems such as WAWF/iRAPT or similar platforms. Basic understanding of FAR/DFARS and DCAA billing requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple billing cycles.
