Accounts Payable Accountant

Our premier staffing firm has partnered with a leading organization to find a skilled Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.

salary: $25 - $35 per hour

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities – Accounting Assistant
 Team Leadership: Support the AP team, delegate tasks and monitor distribution of
workload.
 Invoice and Payment Oversight: Ensure invoices are properly reviewed, coded, approved,
and entered; oversee weekly payments via check, ACH, and wire.
 Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to AP processes, controls,
and system use.
 Compliance: Ensure all AP activities meet internal policies, GAAP, and tax/regulatory
requirements.
 Reporting & Reconciliation: Oversee account and vendor reconciliations, support bank &
credit card reconciliations and prepare reports as needed.
 Expense Management: Assist with the review and management of employee expense
reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
 Month-End & Year-End Close: Coordinate AP-related closing activities and assist with audit
preparation, including 1099 reporting.
 Payroll Reporting: Assist with weekly payroll reporting and journal entries.
