About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Team Lead Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 4 years License: Not specified Certifications: HSPA (IAHCSMM) or CBSPD Must-Have: Previous leadership or charge experience Description: Lead daily sterile processing operations while supporting department workflow. Coordinate the preparation, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, packaging, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. Ensure all instrumentation is properly cleaned, sterilized, and functioning before patient use. Support quality initiatives, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Mentor staff and assist with workflow coordination. Utilize documentation systems to maintain instrument tracking and quality standards. Floating may be required between locations. Candidates must have experience in a teaching hospital environment, Level I Trauma Center preferred. Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible for the position. Candidates within a certain distance may not be eligible. Two professional references are required, including one from a manager or someone in a formal leadership capacity. Education must be from an accredited program.
