(Extra-Curricular Professional Position) Job Summary: To organize, promote, administer and evaluate all athletic programs and coaches to support the school and district's goals. Provide leadership and direction for continuous improvement of the school's athletic department. Act as a liaison between school's athletic programs and the general public, school district and the WVSSAC.

Qualifications:
1. Valid West Virginia Professional Administrative Certificate preferred.
2. Currently employed as a teacher at Lincoln County High School preferred.
3. Knowledge of Athletics and WVSSAC Guidelines.
4. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and athletic events.
5. Demonstrate excellent communication skills written and verbal.
6. Skills to analyze, evaluate and improve athletic programs and facilities.
Immediate Supervisor:
1. Building principal
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate sport programs and provide leadership to improve each sport and overall athletic program.
2. Supervise programs to ensure that all sport programs comply with requirements and procedures of the WVSSAC.
3. Work with the school principal and coaches to prioritize needs of athletic programs and facilities.
4. Coordinate and supervise fund raising efforts, in compliance with WVBE Policy 8200 and 1224.1, to improve athletic programs and facilities.
5. Work with the school principal to recruit high quality coaches.
6. Work with coaches to establish high expectations for good sportsmanship for all coaches, players and spectators.
7. Collaborate with the school principal to make coaching personnel recommendations.
8. Complete two formal observations/evaluations and one final evaluation in compliance WVBE Policy 5310 for each head coach and assistant coach; submit observations/evaluations to the principal at the conclusion of each sport season.
9. Assist coaches in the procedures for adding auxiliary coaches to their coaching staff; submit all necessary documentation to the principal for recommendation.
10. Conduct a conference with each coach to discuss the formal observations and evaluations.
11. Assist coaches to schedule and coordinate athletic events.
12. Conduct coaching meetings to communicate rules and expectations.
13. Verify C & I cards and update administrators and coaches each year.
14. Communicate expectations for coaches to attend the rules clinics, verify participation and submit to the WVSSAC.
15. Coordinate and communicate the schedule for providing physicals through the Panther Clinic.
16. Check student athlete eligibility for each sport prior to each sport season.
17. Collaborate with the athletic trainer to complete actions plans; post action plans prior to each sport season.
18. Submit eligibility information and certify each list for all sports on the WVSSAC website prior to the first contest.
19. Update rosters based upon the eligibility certificate on the WVSSAC website.
20. Submit all schedules on the WVSSAC website at the beginning of each sport season and keep scores updated weekly.
21. Complete and submit financial reports for sectional and regional tournaments as they occur.
22. Require coaches to submit uniform inventories at the beginning and end of each sport season for all sports; compile inventories and submit to the financial secretary.
23. Manage the operation of home athletic events by coordinating support personnel, security, custodial support, and ticket takers.
24. Establish and maintain crowd control for all events to ensure enjoyment, good sportsmanship, and safety of all spectators and participants.
25. Supervise home athletic events on a rotating schedule with other school administrators.
26. Oversee the fairness of practice schedules as they relate to available time on the fields and in the gymnasiums.
27. Plan and supervise an annual recognition program for school athletes.
28. Assist coaches in planning and coordinating team travel with LCS Transportation Department.
29. Coordinating official and umpires at games and budgeting for their pay.
30. Supervise all coaches and act as their direct supervisor.
31. Attend and participate in college signings of student athletes.
32. Perform other duties as related to the position as assigned by the principal.
Terms of Employment:
• Position beginning July 1st through June 30th.
• Salary $5000 per year
Evaluation:
• Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Principal and in accordance with WVBE Policy 5310.
