Job Title Quality Assurance Engineer I, Digital Location 7700 W Parmer Ln, Building C, Suite 360, Austin, TX 78729 Job Type Full Time Responsibilities Test and coordinate testing for all Soft-Pak related software. Plan and create conditions and procedures for testing enhancements to software. Perform all needed testing to ensure overall quality and consistency of the product. Document testing results and report identified defects. Evaluate new software enhancements to determine appropriate testing procedures. Coordinate with other departments for secondary review of new features. Apply problem-solving skills to determine the best techniques and methods for testing processes. Assist with documentation review and perform updates related to new software enhancements as requested. Create and maintain a real-world testing environment reflective of end‑user usage. Provide recommendations and feedback to the Product Management team regarding optimal user experience. Prepare for version releases and establish beta test sites. Design and develop automation scripts for regression test cases. Qualifications Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in a Quality Assurance Engineer role or a related occupation. Demonstrable experience in: Understanding the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and established QA methodologies. Performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including SQL‑based data validation, API testing, and functional verification across integrated systems. Using the RPG programming language to conduct backend data validations with IBM WRKQRY. Working with AS/400 (IBM iSeries) for backend validation, database integrity checks, and batch job monitoring. Developing and executing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end testing. Managing projects and defects using tools such as Jira, Zephyr Scale, or similar QA platforms. Creating maintainable and scalable automation scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG. Conducting REST API testing with Postman or similar tools to validate request/response accuracy and backend business logic. Using cloud-based technologies, including AWS. Telecommuting & Travel Telecommuting permitted up to 40%. Domestic (U.S.) travel required up to 10% for training and business meetings.
