Staff Product Manager - AV Capabilities

Job Description The role at General Motors empowers Product Managers to resolve challenging customer and business problems. As the Staff Product Manager for AV capabilities, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for specific autonomy capabilities and the underlying autonomy platform in GM’s next generation AV products. Key Responsibilities Own the product vision and roadmap for specific AV capabilities, balancing engineering constraints, business needs, and platform dependencies. Communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions across internal customers to executives. Synthesize technical and analytical insights into PRDs and requirements that guide engineers and partners. Lead executives and key partners through sophisticated decisions to progress toward strategic goals. Partner with Engineering, Program Management, Data Science, Commercial Operations, Systems Engineering, and Consumer Product teams to define goals and the roadmap to reach them. Identify and lead improvements to the team’s innovation and scaling approach. Define, track, and analyze key product metrics and performance data to measure success and identify improvements. Stay updated on new technology and competitive products to anticipate threats and identify risks. Required Qualifications 5+ years of product management or related industry experience. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields. Proven experience with technical product management and leading the entire product lifecycle from concept to introduction. Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data. Excellent presentation abilities to convey a concrete vision and rally the team. Technical proficiency in problem‑solving with complex software solutions. Experience defining vision and strategy for robotics or autonomy software products. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive stakeholder buy‑in. Proven oral and written communication skills; fluent in technical concepts and able to explain them to non‑technical partners. Comfortable with complex and ambiguous problems and situations, and adept at identifying a project’s risks. Enthusiastic and resilient in a constantly evolving environment where creative solutions are the norm. Preferred Qualifications MBA or master’s in related technical fields. Experience working on Autonomous Vehicle (AV) teams on ML/AI models. Experience fostering innovation and driving change in complex organizations. Experience shipping hardware or AI‑driven consumer products. Hybrid Work Arrangement This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to either the Warren, MI or Mountain View, CA office three times per week, at minimum. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $134,700 to $245,000, depending on position factors. Bonus potential is based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
