The team owns Snapchat's client-side ads stack on iOS and Android — Ad format rendering and delivery, plus the ad platform and inventory layers underneath. This Staff role will drive our ad inventory and platform work on Android, with a strong emphasis on networking and client performance. We're looking for someone fluent in modern Android internals who's also leaning into the latest agentic development workflows to move faster.What you’ll do:Push the limits of mobile devices and build great user experiencesBuild smooth, stable, and fun productsDevelop features from design through implementation and launchEvaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision and work with design on the best UI and infrastructure practicesPerform code reviews that guarantee code qualityUtilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to use Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and other great tools to build smooth, stable, and fun productsAble to prioritize duties and work well on your ownProficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks.Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience9+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 8+ year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field+ 5 years of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field1+ years of experience with technical leadership or acting as the domain-expert to a technical organizationExperience with Android application developmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with large-scale customer-facing mobile applicationExperience leading teams to deliver sophisticated initiativesIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information.Default Together Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
