Certified Ophthalmic Technician

To manage a high-volume caseload across multiple ophthalmology subspecialties, the part-time Certified Ophthalmic Technician will work remotely to evaluate medication barriers, coordinate payer requirements, and ensure timely resolutions while maintaining detailed documentation. Key responsibilities Review and validate medication requests from various sources, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements Prepare and submit requests, track deadlines, and coordinate appeals while communicating effectively with clinical and non-clinical partners Screen for patient assistance programs and maintain thorough documentation in the electronic medical record Required qualifications Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training and certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician by JCAHPO BLS Certification Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, eye diseases, and treatment protocols Ability to assess patient symptoms and prioritize care based on established clinical guidelines Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a remote environment
