An established New Orleans-area organization is seeking a Contracts & Solicitations Specialist to support formal purchasing, bidding, and proposal processes.

This is not a traditional purchasing role focused primarily on placing orders or managing inventory. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing formal solicitations, bids, RFPs/RFQs, proposals, and scopes of work from beginning to end.

What You’ll Do

• Draft and develop Scopes of Work (SOWs) for goods and professional services
• Prepare and coordinate RFPs, RFQs, Invitations to Bid, and other formal solicitations
• Assist with proposal development, bid documentation, and solicitation packages
• Work with internal departments to define project requirements, specifications, deliverables, and evaluation criteria
• Review bids and proposals for completeness and compliance
• Coordinate solicitation timelines, vendor questions, addenda, evaluations, and award documentation
• Maintain accurate procurement and contract records
• Ensure purchasing processes follow established policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience with formal bids, RFPs/RFQs, proposals, or contract solicitations
• Demonstrated experience writing scopes of work
• Strong business writing and document-development skills
• Ability to take information from multiple stakeholders and turn it into a clear, structured solicitation
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience in government, public-sector, engineering, construction, utilities, higher education, or another highly structured procurement environment is a plus

The Biggest Priority

We are specifically looking for someone who understands the front-end development of a procurement or contracting project. Someone who can help define what is being purchased, write the scope, build the solicitation, and move the bid or proposal process forward.

Candidates whose experience is primarily purchase orders, inventory management, expediting, or transactional buying without significant bid/RFP/SOW experience may not be the right fit.
