CEG Solutions - Assistant Safety Manager

The Assistant Safety Manager will serve as a safety point of contact for the project site, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations. This mission‑driven energy services firm based in the Washington, DC metro area specializes in developing and executing high‑performance energy efficiency and infrastructure improvement projects, primarily for government and institutional clients. Description Support the onsite Safety Manager in maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations. Assist with implementation and upkeep of the Site‑Specific Safety and Health Plan (SSHP), including tracking updates and revisions as directed. Conduct routine site walks and safety observations; document findings and help maintain safety logs and reports. Participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions; assist with preparation and delivery as needed. Help identify potential safety hazards and elevate concerns to the Safety Manager with recommended corrective actions. Support reporting and documentation of incidents, near‑misses, and injuries, ensuring timely and accurate records. Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to reinforce safe work practices across the site. Assist in maintaining safety documentation, including Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), safety meeting records, and certifications. Support compliance with EM 385‑1‑1 and other applicable safety standards, particularly on federal or DoD projects. Profile Foundational understanding of construction safety regulations, with a willingness to learn and apply requirements onsite. Ability to recognize workplace hazards and support implementation of corrective measures under supervision. Some exposure to safety training, site inspections, or audits; eager to assist and develop in this area. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with field teams. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute to a safe work environment. Familiarity with safety documentation and reporting requirements, with an ability to maintain accurate records. Job Offer Competitive annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000 USD.
