Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide exceptional care and support to a diverse patient population, ranging from infants to geriatrics. The primary focus will be on adult respiratory therapy, while also addressing the needs of pediatric patients when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage non-invasive and conventional ventilation for patients.
• Administer aerosol therapy and perform bedside pulmonary function tests.
• Execute arterial line insertions and oxygen management protocols.
• Provide patient education regarding respiratory therapies and treatments.
• Perform arterial and capillary blood gas analyses.
• Ensure compliance with safety and medical protocols within a level 2 trauma center environment.

Patient Population

The position involves working primarily with adult patients, but the candidate should also be prepared to assist with pediatric intubated patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Valid Respiratory Care license in the state of Georgia.
• Trauma experience is required; experience with pulmonary function testing (Spirometry testing) is preferred.

Work Environment

This position will be within a dynamic healthcare setting that includes a level 2 trauma center and level 3 NICU, which also serves as the regional transport resource.

Work Schedule

This role requires a commitment to work night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts per week, with alternating weekends. The ability to float within the facility and surrounding locations may be required.

Holidays

The candidate is expected to work on major holidays as outlined in the role requirements.

Compliance

Full compliance with credentialing requirements is necessary to ensure timely onboarding. Any delays may result in adjusted start dates due to orientation scheduling.
