Resident Care Associate (On-Call)

Position Summary The Resident Care Associate (RCA) provides personal care, companion care, nursing assistance, and other assigned tasks to residents living in Eskaton communities. Responsibilities include direct resident care, assisting with daily living activities, grocery or personal shopping, errands, and other domestic tasks, as well as documenting care provided. Duties and assignments may be adjusted by the Resident Care Director or Memory Care Director based on resident needs. Essential Job Functions Provide companion care such as reading, visiting, answering personal correspondence, assisting with bill paying or other tasks in the residents plan of care. Provide or assist with bathing or showering for resident hygiene. Make beds, straighten rooms, and maintain an orderly resident care area. Assist residents with dressing and protect resident privacy while delivering care. Promote independence and maintain safety for both resident and staff during care. Assist residents with simple range-of-motion exercises or other activities as directed by a nurse or therapist; assist with fitness programs or planned events as outlined in the care plan. Apply medical or adaptive devices as ordered by the physician, physician extender, or supervising nurse. Collect specimens as directed by the Resident Care Director, Memory Care Director, or Wellness Nurse. Follow Eskaton emergency protocols and policies. Starting Salary The starting salary for this position ranges from $20.65–$25.75 per hour. Factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence the base pay offered. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or GED preferred; proficient written and spoken English. Training and Experience: Six (6) months of experience providing personal care in a residential or long-term care setting preferred; valid/current first aid certification. Job Knowledge: Knowledge of personal care services in a residential environment; ability to handle stressful situations; ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team, share information, seek supervision when needed, and follow verbal and written instructions. Exertion: Medium work; capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
