This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with strong listening skills and a commitment to accuracy. No professional transcription experience required.

What You'll Do
- Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, properly formatted written text
- Navigate a variety of accents, speaking speeds, and audio quality levels with patience and precision
- Apply consistent formatting, punctuation, and style guidelines across all transcriptions
- Flag unclear or inaudible segments and note speaker changes where relevant
- Meet quality benchmarks and turnaround targets for each assigned batch
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
- A strong, attentive listener who picks up on nuance and detail
- Accurate and efficient typist comfortable working at pace
- Patient when working through challenging audio — accents, background noise, overlapping speakers
- Able to follow structured guidelines and apply them consistently
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No prior transcription or AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with transcription tools or audio software
- Familiarity with style guides or editorial formatting standards
- Background in journalism, linguistics, or content production
- Experience working with diverse accents or multilingual audio
