Job Title

Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU

Location

Wausau, WI | Neuro Intensive Care Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed Neuro ICU setting, managing a population that includes stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery patients
• Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures including line placement and intubation
• Assist with bolt and drain bedside placements in collaboration with the neurosurgery team
• Monitor and manage patients requiring EVDs and ICP monitoring
• Float between the Neuro Critical Care ICU and Med/Surg ICU units, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN License required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU with strong neurological assessment skills required
• EPIC charting experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred
• Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist is a plus
• Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change
