Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $146,000 - 186,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring at least 5 years of experience building, scaling, and operating backend systems in production.
• We have strong proficiency in one major backend language such as Java, Go, C/C++, or Python, along with solid grounding in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• We have practical experience with distributed systems, including event-driven architectures, high-throughput services, or large-scale data pipelines, and understand consistency, fault tolerance, and performance tradeoffs.
• We have worked extensively with public cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, including containers, orchestration tools like Docker or Kubernetes, and modern deployment practices.
• We are comfortable working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and storage systems, including data modeling and performance tuning at scale.
• We have a proven track record of technical leadership, including driving projects, shaping architecture, and coordinating work across multiple engineers or teams.
• We communicate clearly and collaborate effectively, with the ability to align stakeholders and explain complex ideas in a simple way.
• We have experience with observability and operational excellence, including metrics, logging, tracing, incident response, and postmortems.
• We hold a BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or we have equivalent practical experience.

• We own and lead the design and implementation of sophisticated backend services and systems in a cloud-native, microservices-based environment.
• We make architectural and technical decisions that balance reliability, scalability, performance, and operability, and we clearly explain the tradeoffs.
• We drive projects end to end, from requirements and design through implementation, rollout, and production support.
• We strengthen service reliability and operations by defining SLOs and SLAs, improving observability, and participating in on-call support as needed.
• We partner across teams to define APIs, integration points, and data models that keep the platform coherent and adaptable.
• We identify and advance platform and productivity improvements through tooling, automation, and process enhancements.
• We mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance to grow the teams capabilities.
• We contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, inclusive collaboration, and high technical standards.
