A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support occupational health services across manufacturing facilities in the Saginaw, Michigan area. This unique opportunity offers a flexible part-time schedule, low patient volume, and the ability to play a key role in employee health, workplace safety, and return-to-work programs.

This position is well-suited for Physician Assistants with Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, or Orthopedic experience who enjoy combining clinical care with workplace health and injury management.

Practice Setting

Providers support employees within large manufacturing environments, focusing on occupational health evaluations, fitness-for-duty assessments, injury management, medical surveillance, and return-to-work determinations. The role combines clinical expertise with workplace health and safety initiatives to improve employee outcomes and support operational needs.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational medicine evaluations and surveillance exams
• Perform fitness-for-duty and return-to-work assessments
• Review employee qualification examinations
• Evaluate workplace injuries and determine appropriate restrictions
• Manage musculoskeletal and occupational injury cases
• Review medical records and occupational health documentation
• Recommend workplace accommodations when appropriate
• Participate in job site walk-throughs following workplace injuries
• Collaborate with safety teams and operational leaders during investigations
• Attend leadership and safety meetings to provide clinical guidance
• Document encounters and evaluations within the Cority system

Schedule

• 16 hours per week
• Two days per week
• Tuesday required
• Second weekday flexible (Thursday preferred)
• Variable start times between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM
• Variable end times between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM
• 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Six-month assignment
• Extension potential available

Patient Volume & Support

• Approximately 2-6 cases per shift
• Low-volume occupational health environment
• Mix of direct patient care and administrative case review
• Dedicated RN support onsite
• Access to additional provider support when needed
• Comprehensive orientation program

Qualifications Required

• Active Michigan Physician Assistant License
• NCCPA Certification
• Minimum 2 years of PA experience in:
  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Urgent Care
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Orthopedics
• Occupational Medicine or industrial health experience
• Experience managing:
  • Workplace injuries
  • Musculoskeletal conditions
  • Return-to-work cases
  • Workplace restrictions and accommodations
  • OSHA-related health concerns
• Ability to work between multiple clinic locations in the Saginaw area
• Flexibility with varying shift start and end times

Preferred

• Manufacturing industry experience
• Workers' Compensation experience
• Employee Health experience
• Occupational Health certification or training
• Experience with Cority or occupational health EMR systems
