Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, including those with dementia, autism, or behavioral health needs, in a med-surg/acute setting.
- Serve as charge nurse on assigned shifts: coordinate care, delegate tasks, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and therapies; manage IV lines and ports; monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
- Perform and supervise wound care, ostomy/PEG care, and basic respiratory support including oxygen therapy as needed.
- Support discharge planning and transitions to long-term care or adult family homes; coordinate with PT, respiratory, social services, and case management.
- Document thoroughly in the electronic charting system and ensure continuity of care across shifts; participate in rounds and safety checks.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington state
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg/Acute care experience; LTAC experience preferred but not required
- Experience with heavy-care patients and cognitive/behavioral issues (dementia, autism, psych presentations)
- Ability to float to like-med/surg units as needed; comfortable with patient lifts and mobility equipment
- EPIC charting experience or willingness to learn; strong communication and teamwork skills
- References: 2 professional references within the last 3 years
- On-site requirements: ability to work 3x12-day shifts; weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Pre-start and orientation: ~16 hours of pre-start modules; 12 hours of orientation
- Local travelers: not eligible if permanent residence is within 50 miles of the facility
- COVID-19 vaccine: not required
