Job Location Endocrine Engagement Center - 4825 Creekstone Drive, Durham, NC Once fully oriented, this work can be done as a hybrid model, with a rotating schedule of working remotely and from the office. Job Summary We are seeking a part time Certified Medical Assistant in our Nephrology Engagement Center clinic located in Durham, NC . The Certified Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System remote practice that assists medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensures the clinic/office runs smoothly. Job Duties And Responsibilities Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounters, and follow protocols and escalation plans established by clinic leadership. Manage telephone calls and in-basket messages within scope. Forms management. Participate in performance improvement projects. Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated. Job Eligibility Requirements Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required. Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required. Please indicate on resume which certification you have, the certification number, and expiration date. BLS required. Level I – No experience required. Level II – 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, certified in a clinical setting. Job Hours Hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. No weekends or Duke designated holidays.
