Abrasive Machinist - Precision Grinder (2nd Shift)Kamatics is seeking an experienced Abrasive Machinist - Precision Grinder (2nd Shift) to support production operations by performing complex grinding processes to tight aerospace tolerances. We take pride in engineering excellence, collaborative problem solving, and a culture built on innovation and customer trust.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently set up, adjust, and operate OD and ID grinding equipmentSelect and apply appropriate grinding wheels based on material type, tolerance, and finish requirementsPerform wheel dressing and adjustments to maintain precision and surface integrityExecute form grinding and complex setups on aerospace componentsInterpret blueprints and GD&T requirements to meet tight tolerances and surface finish specsTroubleshoot issues related to surface finish, chatter, and wheel performanceSelect workholding methods, speeds, feeds, and machine parametersPartner cross-functionally to meet quality and delivery targetsRequired Qualifications4+ years of hands-on grinding experience (OD, ID, or centerless) in a precision manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of grinding wheel selection, composition, and dressing techniquesAbility to perform independent grind setupsExperience working to tight tolerances in aerospace or high-precision environmentsSolid understanding of shop math and GD&TPreferredExperience with form grinding or honingAerospace or bearing manufacturing backgroundFoundational Machinist Competencies (All Levels)Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with appropriate supervisionQuality & Continuous Improvement: Maintains quality while optimizing efficiency; demonstrates attention to detailCommunication: Communicates clearly and effectivelyTeamwork & Collaboration: Builds positive working relationshipsSafety & Compliance: Follows safety protocols, maintains good housekeeping, and adheres to company policiesPhysical RequirementsContinual standingFrequent mental and visual attentionFrequent bending, twisting, and grasping tools/materialsOccasional (15–40%) lifting and moving of materials up to 50 lbsBenefits:At Kamatics, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
