Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist (ABIS)YAI is seeking a qualified Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist (ABIS) to support our locations in Queens.The Asst. BIS position blends together the Direct Support Professional (DSP) role and a behavioral support role. Under the supervision of the BIS the Asst. BIS will support in educating team members on treatment plans and behavior support plans, assisting with clinical assessments, ensuring data collection, and providing direct feedback and education to all team members.YAI is a network of agencies offering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities a comprehensive range of services across all ages. This includes, but is not limited to, the provision of direct counseling, implementation of each individual's treatment plan, training in ADL skills, assistance with personal care, medical, dietary, social, sexual, recreational, financial, and habilitative, and other needs within the program.To train staff, which includes, but is not limited to, using the EMOE training system to ensure that all clinical interventions are properly implemented, to communicate clinical rationales to the staff, to provide staff with both formal and informal feedback, and role model at all times appropriate tone, implementing of habilitative and behavioral programming, and appropriate data collection techniquesRole Model use of person-centered philosophy and use of person-centered toolsTo develop written, individualized habilitative plans in accordance with the agency philosophy, as determined by individual need.To conduct assessments – both behavioral and habilitative via formal means (written questionnaires, rating scales, baseline data, etc.) and informal (observations), under the supervision of the BIS.To design effective data collection systems that allow progress to be monitored. To monitor the data collection, ensure that the data is totaled and summarized on a monthly basis and that new data sheets are accessible to staff at the beginning of each month.To oversee/maintain the completion of all required paperwork, including monthlies, Person-Centered materials, and ensure that all pertinent information is included on psychiatric anecdotal.To provide the appropriate therapeutically documented level of an individual's supervision to ensure and protect the individual's health/safety and well-being.
