Position Title: Early Childhood Lead Teacher

Reports to: Early Childhood Pathway Coordinator

Job Type/ Classification: Full Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Salary: starting at $19, depending on education and experience

Position Summary : The Early Learning Lead Teacher (ECLT) is responsible for effectively supporting and executing Dream Center Evansvilles (DCE) early childhood programs and initiatives. The ECLT promotes positive early childhood development and kindergarten readiness for DCEs early childhood population.

Principal Responsibilities :

• Lead and/or assist the Early Childhood Pathway Coordinator with the following programs:
  1. Programs for children and their parents that promotes child development through creative play and parent engagement. The ECLT will plan and lead sessions with activities that help grow children's language skills, literacy skills, motor skills and math concepts. The ECLT will help parents connect the intentional play with extension activities they can do with their children at home.
  2. Eaglets - Lead our preschool program that promotes school readiness through engaging activities and a structure that will prepare children for their transition into the school environment. The ECLT partners with parents to discuss their childs progress and needs, and suggest ways that they can help to further prepare their child for kindergarten.
  3. Programs promoting parenting practices that grow the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of their children. In partnership with the Family Development Team, staff utilize curriculum to host parent cohorts focused on ensuring their children are receiving a strong start.
     
• Family Engagement : The ECLT will regularly engage with the families of DCEs early learners to promote collaboration and support systems.
  
• Data Support: The ECLT helps collect relevant data on families and children in the early childhood programs, including but not limited to child development as measures such as Brigance. The ECLT provides regular reports regarding assessment data, goals, and interventions.

Job Specifications Requirements

• Strongly Preferred: 1 to 2 years of experience working with children ages 0-5 or experience teaching Pre-K
• Demonstrated ability to connect and sustain relationships across socio-cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in problem-solving on complex issues.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team.
• Personal saving faith in Jesus Christ.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and expertise in group presentations.

Education:

• Required: High school diploma or GED
• Required: Early Childhood education experience, training and/or credit hours; willingness to obtain early childhood educator/lead teacher certification
• Preferred: Associate degree in Early Childhood education or Child Development Associate (CDA)

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be 21 or over.
• Hold a valid drivers license, and be comfortable to safely operate any of the DCE vehicles transporting students, including a 15-passenger van.
• Criminal background check must show no conviction of a felony or misdemeanor crime including, but not limited to abuse, drugs or alcohol, neglect, theft or fraud.
