Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Columbia, MD. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented AR/Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for primarily accounts receivable functions, along with general accounting support, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Manage accounts receivable processes including invoicing, cash applications, and collections Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances Support AP functions and other accounting operations as needed Prepare financial reports and assist with audits Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2+ years of accounting or accounts receivable experience Proficiency in Excel and accounting software/ERP systems Strong attention to detail and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Compensation and Benefits The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
