Kelly Science and Clinical has a new temp to hire opportunity for an Animal Husbandry Technician in Cleveland, OH!

Shift: 37.5 hours/week (M-Th 6:30am-3pm; F 6:30am-12pm), required overtime for weekends and holidays; onsite work required
Pay: $16.50/hour
A Direct Hire Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care for research animals per established protocols and regulations
  
  
• Monitor and document animal health, dietary needs, cage conditions, and overcrowding
  
  
• Record and report any conditions that could impact animal well-being or research progress (e.g., disease, damaged cages/equipment)
  
  
• Administer special diets, ensure constant access to food and water, and attend to any other special needs
  
  
• Wash animal cages, materials, and clean/fill water bottles following ARC SOPs
  
  
• Maintain cleanliness of cage wash area and related equipment
  
  
• Perform cage washer repair and preventative maintenance
  
  
• Support veterinary staff and researchers in maintaining healthy animal populations for research
  
  
• Ensure compliance with animal care standards, university SOPs, and regulatory requirements
  
  
• Rotate coverage for holidays and weekends as part of an essential, year-round care team
  
  
• Demonstrate a commitment to animal welfare and the role of animals in research
  
  
• Participate in essential operations as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Enjoy and value working with animals in a research setting
  
  
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain high standards of cleanliness and animal care
  
  
• Willing to work required shifts, including weekends and holidays
  
  
• Can work independently and prioritize efforts using standard procedures
