Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132 Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis. On‑call requirements: 1-2 weekend shifts per month and 2-3 holidays (both major and minor holidays) per year, with weekday daytime availability needed. Therapy Services Highlights Self‑scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth Magnet designated facility Supportive team in an acute care trauma hospital Here’s What You Need Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or another post‑baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association Experience as an SLP with adult population in an acute‑care, hospital‑based, inpatient setting Valid Texas Speech‑Language‑Pathology license upon hire, or SLP‑I or SLP‑I license upon hire (preferred) BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Good verbal and written communication skills in English Problem‑solving ability; ability to teach others Time‑management skills and good interpersonal and customer‑service skills; basic leadership skills What You Will Do Perform age‑appropriate patient assessment and establish plan of care Focus and prioritize on stroke, NPO (nothing per oral), and pending discharge evaluation patients Use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment Educate patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self‑management and assistive equipment Document all aspects of assessment, plan of care and re‑certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines Work in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel Additional perks of being a Texas Health Speech Language Pathologist Benefits include 401k, free parking, and discounts in the cafeteria Delivery of high quality patient care through evidence‑based care A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth Explore the Texas Health careers site for information such as benefits, job listings by category, recent awards we’ve won, and more #J-18808-Ljbffr
